After New Orleans, Ramz and I headed to Baton Rouge to play at Chelsea's Cafe, a great venue in a great town.
This just in... If you're ever in Baton Rouge (and why wouldn't you be), and you need a great music / strong drink fix, make it happen at Chelsea's Cafe. The bands they bring in are amazing (ahem!,) the bartenders are amazing, and occasionally, those bartenders have talented friends that will let you ride their bike...amazing. Our bartender was a lovely gal named Chris (or Kris, possibly Cris, maybe but probably not Khrisz) who took care of us all night and then invited us to another bar after Chelsea's closed, where again, she took care of us. Southern hospitality, at it's finest.
Me, bike, aforementioned amazing bartender in the background, in a hat, talking to a guy...in camo shorts. I really should have cropped this shot.
So. The owner of the beauty-on-two-wheels pictured above was sitting at the bar a few stools down from Ramz and I after we got off stage. He overheard me talking about how I liked Whiskeytown, and in particular, this one old video of them playing with Beetle-Bob. "Yeah, I know that video" he says. "Yeah, it's a good one" I say.
"Thanks."
"Thanks?"
"Yeah, I actually shot that video."
"What!?"
"Yeah, I used to shoot a lot of their stuff."
"NO way..."
"Yep."
"Noooo way."
"Yeah, swear to god."
"Noooooooooo way!!"
"Ummm...yeah, seriously"
"Noooooo-"
"Ok enough."
Here it is....
Baton Rouge, I love you, and I will be back
